International Awareness & Involvement

The International Awareness and Involvement Committee of the Tampa Alumnae Chapter is committed to developing and coordinating community programs designed to enhance international awareness and to eradicate social inequities. The Tampa Alumnae chapter has presented community-based programs that increase cultural awareness (International Festival/Bazaar), promote understanding of displaced individuals (Haitian refugees), and increased knowledge related to HIV/AIDS (International Day of Service, World AIDS Day). Additionally the chapter has provided financial support for supplies and administrative support (Mary Help of the Sick Mission Hospital) educational scholarships (Akilah Institute), and clean water for people in depressed areas (Water for Children Africa & Water for Haiti).
