International Awareness
and Involvement

Under this programmatic thrust, the chapter develops, and coordinates community initiatives designed to enhance international awareness and to eradicate social inequities. The Tampa Alumnae Chapter presents community-based programs that increase cultural awareness (International Festival/Bazaar), promote understanding of displaced individuals (Haitian refugees), and increase knowledge related to HIV/AIDS (International Day of Service, World AIDS Day). Additionally, the chapter has provided financial support for supplies and operations to Mary Help of the Sick Mission Hospital, educational scholarships to the Akilah Institute, and supported Water for Children Africa & Water for Haiti.
