Social Action
In March of 1913, nearly six weeks after its founding, our Founders participated in the historic Suffragist March under the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. banner, this was our first act of advocacy. Today each area of programmatic thrust advocates for issues and causes that impact the community under the auspices of social action.
Through the National Social Action Commission, regional and local initiatives, we:
-
Promote voter registration, education, and engagement
-
Combat voter suppression
-
Restore the right to vote for ex-offenders
-
Eliminate health and health care disparities
-
Improve financial literacy
-
Empower economic growth
-
Increase HBCU awareness
-
Balance Gender inequality
-
Reduce Racial profiling
-
The Tampa Alumnae Chapter upholds the vision of its Founders by interweaving Social Action through all aspects of its service.
