Walinda McKnight-Green is a Golden Life member and was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. through the Kappa Epsilon Chapter at Florida State University. She has held several leadership positions within the chapter, including 1st Vice-President, Co-Chair of the Queen of Hearts Scholarship and Community Service Gala, Political Awareness and Involvement Co-Chair, Chair of Physical and Mental Health, Financial Secretary, and Internal Audit Chair. She is a graduate of the chapter’s inaugural Emerging Leadership cohort program. 

 

With over 30 years in the managed care industry, Walinda holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Florida State University and has completed coursework in Associate Project Management. Currently, she is the Director of Operations Support for a managed care company and co-owner of Kingdom Transportation. 

 

Walinda has one daughter, who is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and three sons and has been married to her husband for over 26 years.

Kathy Greene was initiated into the San Francisco Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in 2013. Since joining Tampa Alumnae Chapter, she has enjoyed serving in a variety of leadership and committee roles. Most notably, she reimagined the role of Corresponding Secretary from 2022- 2026 and continues to serve on the Tampa Chapter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council. She is also a proud graduate of Tampa Alumnae's Chapter Emerging Leaders Cohort III.

 

Originally from Guyana, Kathy earned her bachelor's degree from Duke University and her master's degree from New York University. She has been an Occupational Therapist for more than 20 years and enjoys using her experience to support others, develop leaders, and strengthen connections through service.

Linda Porter is a proud mother of two and a Florida State University alumna, where she earned her BS degree in Interior Design. She was initiated into the Kappa Epsilon Chapter at Florida State University in 1987 and has remained a devoted member for nearly four decades.

 

With more than 30 years of experience in the design and construction industry, Linda has excelled in roles ranging from owning and managing her own interior design firm and Division 10 construction firm to serving as Director of Business Development for a leading engineering company. Her professional journey reflects both creativity and strategic leadership.

 

Linda is deeply committed to her community. She serves as the immediate past Chair of the CDC of Tampa, is a graduate of Leadership Tampa c/o 2014, sings in the choir at New Mt. Zion M.B. Church, and is the President of LFC Specialties, LLC. Her dedication to service is also evident within Delta Sigma Theta, where she has served as Second Vice President, Chapter Treasurer, chair/co-chair of Membership Services, Sergeant at Arms, and multiple other committees for the Tampa Alumnae Chapter.

Linda brings passion, experience, and a steadfast commitment to sisterhood and service. 

Tammie Pickett McFarland is an accomplished finance and accounting professional with more than 30 years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial management, operational leadership, and process improvement. A former Ernst & Young auditor, she has also held professional roles with Ford Motor Company and Unity Hunt Investments. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in Management Information Systems and a Master of Business Administration.

A respected community and organizational leader, Soror McFarland has served in numerous leadership capacities, including as an elected officer, school board member, and mentor. Throughout her service, she has been recognized for her strategic leadership, financial expertise, commitment to accountability, and ability to strengthen organizational operations.

Initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in Spring 2001 through the Metropolitan Dallas Alumnae Chapter, Soror McFarland proudly celebrates 25 years of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. She is currently a member of the Tampa Alumnae Chapter, where she serves as Chapter Treasurer. In this role, she provides fiscal leadership and promotes sound financial practices, transparency, internal controls, and responsible stewardship of the chapter’s resources.

Soror McFarland is married to Anthony McFarland, and they are the proud parents of Alexis and Jacob. Guided by faith, family, leadership, and service, she remains committed to excellence and to leaving every organization stronger than she found it.

 

Dr. Lakeshia Cousin is a healthcare leader, nurse scientist, and community advocate dedicated to advancing health equity and strengthening communities. A St. Petersburg, Florida, native and Fall 2020 initiate of the Tampa Alumnae Chapter, she is a proud alumna of Florida A&M University and the University of South Florida. Her Delta leadership spans the local and national levels, from leading the Tampa Alumnae Chapter’s grants, corporate sponsorships, and community alliances efforts and serving as an alumna of Emerging Leaders Cohort III to contributing her research expertise to the Delta Research and Educational Foundation’s All of Us Research Program Research Group and serving as a Leadership DELTA mentor. 

 

As First Vice President, she advances the vision of her leadership platform, Lead with IMPACT—Implementing Measurable Programs Across our Chapter Together, with a focus on empowering members, expanding partnerships, and elevating the chapter’s collective impact.

Dr. Theresa Cross was initiated into the Kappa Lambda Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. at Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY in 1999. She has served in various positions in DST including Corresponding Secretary, Recording Secretary, Committee Chair, Primary Advisor to the Kappa Iota Chapter of DST Sorority, Inc. at the University of South Florida and member of the Advisory Council to Tau Iota Chapter of DST Sorority, Inc. at the University of Tampa. Soror Cross is a Diamond Life member of DST. 

 

Soror Cross retired from the U.S. Army in 2019 after 30 years of active and reserve service to the Nation. Following retirement, Soror Cross served as a senior strategic advisor for a government contractor providing strategy and policy advice to senior defense officials. She currently serves as the senior policy analyst to the Director of Strategy, Plans and Policy at U.S. Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base providing policy advice to senior defense officials. 

 

Soror Cross served the Tampa Bay community as a charter member, President, VP, and committee member of the Syracuse University Alumni Club of Tampa Bay, and Guardian Ad Litem for Hillsborough County’s 13th Judicial Circuit. She serves the veteran community as a liaison for the Institute of Veteran and Military Families at Syracuse University. She also serves as a member of the SUACTB and a volunteer member of Grady Elementary School PTA.

Nichelle D. Glenn was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in 2020 through the Tampa Alumnae Chapter, where she has remained an active and dedicated member. She has served as Assistant Corresponding Secretary and contributes her time and talents to several chapter committees, including the Technology Committee, Emergency Response Team, and Delta Connection. Nichelle is currently a proud participant in the chapter’s LEAD Program, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to leadership development and service within the sisterhood.

 

Nichelle is a proud HBCU graduate of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, where she earned her B.S. in Business Economics. She continued her academic journey by obtaining a master’s degree in educational leadership from Argosy University.

With 29 years of service in Hillsborough County Public Schools, Nichelle has built a distinguished career as an educator. She currently serves as a Magnet Lead Teacher, guiding students and families with excellence, compassion, and a deep belief in the transformative power of education.

Contina “Tina” Flemings, West Philadelphia born and raised, was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in 2019 through Frederick County (MD) Alumnae Chapter. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and has over 30 years of experience in the financial arena. Tina has served on various committees such as Delta Academy, Delta GEMS, Membership Services, Social Committee, Co-Chair for Elegance of Jazz, Assistant Financial Secretary and Financial Secretary both her originated and current chapter. She is currently a Budget Analyst at the Internal Revenue Service. She loves traveling with her husband and daughter and her passion is building a community of families and friends in a positive environment that creates the opportunity for networking through fellowship.
