Chapter President

Karen Padgett Beard

Karen Padgett Beard was Initiated into the sorority in 2002 in the Tampa Alumnae Chapter. Karen has over 30 years of experience in People Operations, holding executive roles in both profit and non-profit sectors. She is the CEO and owner of Quality Innovative Strategic Solutions, LLC, where she focuses on strategic growth and people development. Karen is a graduate of Tuskegee University and holds a master's degree from Troy State University. She has held multiple leadership roles within Delta Sigma Theta at the chapter, regional, and national levels and follows in the footsteps of her mother, a former Chapter President. Karen has one adult daughter and lives in Tampa with her husband of 31 years.

Linda Porter

Linda is a mother of two and a Florida State University graduate with a degree in Interior Design. She was initiated into the Kappa Epsilon Chapter at Florida State University in 1987 and has been dedicated to the organization ever since. With over 30 years of experience in the design and construction industry, Linda has worked in various roles, from managing her own interior design firm to serving as Director of Business Development for an engineering company. She is also actively involved in her community, serving as Chair of the CDC of Tampa, a member of USF’s LIFT program, a participant in Leadership Tampa, and a choir member at New Mt. Zion M.B. Church. As the Second VP of the Tampa Alumnae Chapter, she is ready to serve to help take the chapter to the Next Level!

Jacqueline "Tish" Graham

Jacqueline “Tish” Graham, a native of Georgia, was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in 1984 through the Zeta Psi Chapter at the University of Georgia. She holds a bachelor's degree in professional management, a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Specialist’s degree in Educational Leadership. Jacqueline has served in various leadership roles within the sorority, including Assistant Financial Secretary, Assistant Recording Secretary, and Mentor for Delta Academy, and has been an active member of several committees. Jacqueline enjoys spending time with her husband, four children, and eight grandchildren. She loves worshiping through song, has an interest in sports and exercise, and is dedicated to spreading love, encouragement, and positivity in her community.

Treasurer

Dr. Constance Jackson

Dr. Constance Jackson (USAF Col-Ret) was initiated into the sorority November 20, 1982 in the Lambda Zeta Chapter at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She has served on multiple committees over the past almost 40 years in 4 alumnae chapters. Most recently, she is a graduate of the Emerging Leaders, Cohort II. The office of Financial Secretary is the first elected office for Soror Jackson.​ Constance obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston Texas. She is currently a practicing physician and flight surgeon at the Flight Medicine Clinic at MacDill Air Force Base.

1st Vice President

Walinda McKnight-Green

Walinda McKnight-Green was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. through the Kappa Epsilon Chapter at Florida State University. She has held several leadership positions within the chapter, including Co-Chair of the Queen of Hearts Scholarship and Community Service Gala, Political Awareness and Involvement Co-Chair, Chair of Physical and Mental Health, Financial Secretary, and Internal Audit Chair. She is a graduate of the chapter’s inaugural Emerging Leadership cohort. Walinda holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Florida State University, has completed coursework in Associate Project Management, and is a licensed real estate agent. Currently, she is the Director of Operations Support for a managed care company and co-owner of Kingdom Transportation.

Dr. Phildra Swagger

Dr. Phildra Swagger is a Diamond Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and was initiated into the Tampa Alumnae Chapter in 2002. She is a graduate of the chapter's Emerging Leaders Cohort II and has served in numerous leadership roles, including Delta GEMS Chair, Education Committee Chair, and Co-Chair of the Nominating Committee, and as a Mentor for the Delta Fellows National Leadership Program. Dr. Swagger is a proud HBCU graduate from NC A&T State University and holds an MBA and Ph.D. from the University of South Florida. With a 30-year career in education as a teacher, principal, district administrator, and nonprofit executive, she is now the CEO and Executive Coach at Combined Expertise, Inc., focusing on strategic growth for leaders and organizations. She resides in Riverview, FL, with her husband of 22 years and is the mother of two undergraduate students at FAMU.

Kathy Greene

Kathy Greene was initiated into the sorority through the San Francisco Alumnae Chapter in 2013. Prior to joining the Tampa Alumnae Chapter in 2021, Kathy was also affiliated with the Orlando Alumnae Chapter and the Savannah Alumnae Chapter. She is a proud graduate of the chapter's Emerging Leaders Cohort III and serves on multiple committees including the Tampa chapter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council. Kathy emigrated from Guyana. She received her undergraduate degree at Duke University and her Master’s degree at New York University. She has been an Occupational Therapist for 20+ years and currently works for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Financial Secretary

Natalie Glover-Powell

Natalie M. Powell-Glover is the Financial Secretary for the Tampa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and has also served as Treasurer and Financial Secretary for the Tampa Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter. She is currently the Assistant Director of the Financial Education Program at the University of South Florida and an Adjunct Professor teaching various courses. With over 25 years of experience in higher education, she has worked at several institutions, including the University of South Florida and the University of Central Florida. She holds a BS in Business Administration, an MBA, an MAOM in Organizational Management, and a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration. Outside of work, Soror Powell-Glover is active in her church and enjoys hobbies like event planning, crocheting, and volunteering with youth.
