The Tampa Alumnae Chapter is known for dedicated service and commitment to our community, as well as for award- winning programs and scholarships.  It is through our signature events that we sustain programs of excellence while offering more than $20,000 in scholarships annually.  Our signature events have become mainstays in the Tampa Bay area and beyond.

Jabberwock is Tampa Alumnae’s longest standing fundraising event that allows us to celebrate our youth and their achievements. Our first Jabberwock was held in 1948, with Miss Violet Lariez taking home the coveted crown. Jabberwock has evolved over the years to feature our middle school youth showcasing their talent by participating a production. Events leading up to the culminating production include a period of self-development and cultural enrichment for the young students. The highlight of the event is the crowning of Miss Jabberwock and Mr. Jabberwock.

Queen of Hearts “Scholarship and Community Service” Gala, has been a signature fundraising event for the Tampa Alumnae Chapter since February 13, 195 4. At the first gala more than 700 attendees witnessed the crowning of Mr. Perry Sullivan and Miss Addie Turner as King and Queen of the Gala. The event continues to grow and always promises to be an evening of glitz and glamour. During this biennial event, we proudly recognize our community partners and leaders.
